Emmanuel Agyeman Badu tips Black Satellites for future glory
Former Black Stars player, Emmanuel Agyeman Badu is optimistic the Black Satellites of Ghana will achieve greater feats if the current team is developed well.
The U20 World Cup winner in 2009 comments follows the Black Satellites qualification to the 2025 U20 African Cup of Nations while featuring in the WAFU B U20 tournament.
The Black Satellites finished second in the WAFU B U20 tournament hosted in Togo after losing the finals to their bitterest rivals Nigeria.
However, speaking to 3 Sports, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has urged the team to lay aside the defeat to Nigeria and focus on team building.
“We have qualified for the AFCON. We also wanted to win the WAFU B Cup; however, we couldn’t. I wanted them to equal the record we set at our time when we won the WAFU Cup, AFCON and the World Cup. However, all is not lost. We will prepare very well for the AFCON so that we can qualify for the World Cup.” He said.
He also revealed he was happy about the performances of the team so far.
“I was well impressed. I watched all their games. They have bee doing well, they go down and fight back to win games. I know Desmond is a very good and intelligent coach.” He added.
Ghana will be hoping to lift their fifth AFCON trophy when they feature in next year’s African Cup of Nations.
