Techiman Eleven Wonders have booked their place in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League after edging Real Tamale United (RTU) 2-1 in a tense playoff final at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday afternoon.

In a closely contested encounter to decide the sole promotion slot from the Division One League Zone One, Eleven Wonders rose to the occasion to complete their top-flight return with a dramatic late winner.

The game began with both teams showing urgency, but it was Eleven Wonders who struck first. Frank Awere opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, capitalising on a defensive lapse by RTU to give the Techiman-based side a deserved lead.

RTU, determined to fight their way back into contention, kept pressing in the second half and were rewarded with a penalty in the 69th minute. The Tamale-based side made no mistake from the spot, levelling the tie and setting up a tense final 20 minutes.

Just when it seemed the match was destined for extra time, Eleven Wonders were awarded a penalty in the 90th minute. The spot-kick was confidently converted, restoring their lead and sending their bench and fans into wild celebrations.

The final whistle confirmed Eleven Wonders’ return to Ghana’s top tier after narrowly missing out in previous seasons. Their promotion also serves as redemption, having suffered heartbreak in a similar playoff defeat to Bofoakwa Tano last year.

With this victory, Eleven Wonders now turn their attention to preparations for the upcoming Premier League season, where they will be eager to make a strong impact and solidify their place among the elite.
