Hearts of Oak head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has conceded that his side is still in the developmental phase, insisting the Phobians have not yet reached their optimum level in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season.

The Accra-based giants were held to a frustrating stalemate by Berekum Chelsea on Matchday 23, a result that denied them the chance to significantly close the gap on leaders Medeama SC. The draw leaves Hearts third on the table with 40 points, five behind the summit and with lingering concerns about their cutting edge in attack.

Reflecting on the team’s progress, Dramani acknowledged that there is considerable room for improvement, noting that his squad is currently operating below its desired standard.

“As a team, we are still not doing some things right,” he said. “If you listen to me week in, week out, regardless of whether we win, draw or lose, I always talk about trying to improve in key moments of the game. The level of my team is around 65 to 70 percent.”

The former Black Stars assistant coach explained that while results matter, they do not fully capture the team’s developmental trajectory, highlighting the need for better consistency, decision-making and execution during critical phases of matches.

With the campaign still at a crucial stage, Dramani remains optimistic that Hearts of Oak will continue to evolve as his players grow more comfortable with his tactical approach and philosophy, aiming to hit top form as the title race intensifies.
