Black Galaxies Defeat Togo 2-0 in Friendly Ahead of CHAN Qualifiers
Ghana’s Black Galaxies continued their strong preparations for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers with an impressive 2-0 victory over Togo in an international friendly held on Tuesday, December 11, 2024.
The match, played at the Stade de Kegue in Lome, saw the Black Galaxies assert their dominance early. Asante Kotoko’s in-form striker Albert Amoah opened the scoring just three minutes into the game, setting the tone for Ghana’s confident performance.
The second goal came in the 27th minute when Yakubu Issah doubled Ghana’s lead with a well-taken finish, capitalizing on a defensive lapse by the Togolese backline.
Despite spirited efforts from both teams for the remainder of the match, neither side managed to alter the scoreline as Ghana secured a well-deserved 2-0 victory.
The friendly served as a critical tune-up for Coach Mas Ud Didi Dramani and his team, providing valuable insights as they finalize preparations for the two-legged CHAN qualifier against Nigeria later this month.
The Black Galaxies will host the Super Eagles in the first leg in Ghana on Sunday, December 22, before travelling to Nigeria for the decisive return leg on Saturday, December 28, 2024.
