Newly appointed Bechem United head coach Stephen Desmond-Issah Botchway has expressed confidence in his team’s potential ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.

Botchway, who signed a two-year contract, takes charge of the Hunters following a restructuring of the club’s technical bench. He replaces Kwaku Danso, who now assumes the role of technical director.

The changes signal Bechem United’s ambition to make a strong impression in the upcoming campaign, and fans will be watching closely as the club enters the season with renewed optimism.

Speaking to the club’s media, Botchway shared his early impressions and belief in the squad’s competitiveness.

“I’ve been made to know that, all the players are not in yet, we are left with one or two players to come in but so far so good, the ones I have been working with are doing very well,” he said.

“I can see a lot of challenges in the game. The players are ready to give each other competition and with this kind of crop of players, I think we can go far next season, and we are ready to go far this year and make Bechem proud,” he added.

Bechem United will open their league season with a tough away fixture against reigning champions Bibiani GoldStars.

The 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season is set to kick off on the weekend of September 12, 2025.
