The 27-year old Ghanaian midfielder secured a starting berth with his new club, UD Almeria as they hosted Real Madrid in week 2 of the 2023-24 Spanish La Liga.
The Black Stars defensive midfielder exhibited brilliant football to guide his outfit to a deserving 1-1 draw infront of their home fans, at the Power Horse stadium in the first half but got stun 3-1 at full-time. He started in the midfield with Lucas Robertone in a 4-2-3-1 formation.
It was Baba’s second game after making his debut last week and losing 2-0 to RCD Mallorca.
Sergio Arribas gave the host a deserving lead in the 3rd minute but strike was cancelled by Real Madrid new signing Jude Bellingham before the 20th minute mark. First half ended in a one all draw but UD Almeria suffered the bitter part of Ancelotti’s side in the second department, seeing Bellingham netting brace and Brazilian forward Vinicius Jnr registering the third goal.
Baba joined UD Almeria on a season-long loan with an option to sign a permanent deal from Spanish club RCD Mallorca.
He saw full throttle of the match day 2 Spanish La Liga fixture, losing 3-1.
