Asante Kotoko Fan Nana Pooley to Be Laid to Rest at Heroes Park
Asante Kotoko supporter Yaw Frimpong, widely known as ‘Nana Pooley,’ will be laid to rest today, Thursday, March 6, 2025, following his tragic death after being stabbed during a Ghana Premier League match.
The funeral service will take place at Heroes Park within the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, where family, friends, football administrators, and devoted fans of the Porcupine Warriors will gather to pay their final respects to the passionate supporter.
Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has arrived in Kumasi to lead a high-profile delegation, including Executive Council members, Regional Football Association Chairmen, and club officials, in honoring Pooley’s memory and supporting the Asante Kotoko family.
President Okraku had earlier visited the bereaved family and Asante Kotoko’s leadership to personally extend his condolences.
The funeral is expected to attract key football stakeholders and fans from across the country, as the Ghanaian football community mourns the loss of one of its most passionate supporters.
