Premier League side Arsenal have officially confirmed that they are in negotiations with Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey over a new contract, as the club gears up for a significant squad reshuffle ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Partey’s current contract is set to expire on June 30, 2025, raising questions about his future at the Emirates. However, the Gunners have now clarified their position in a retained list published on their official website, affirming that discussions are ongoing with the 31-year-old.

“The following players’ contracts also expire on June 30, 2025. Discussions are ongoing, and once matters are finalised between all parties, we will communicate in due course. Chloe Kelly, Thomas Partey, Michal Rosiak,” the statement read.

The Ghana international enjoyed arguably his most impactful campaign since arriving from Atlético Madrid in 2020.

Partey’s consistent performances played a pivotal role in Mikel Arteta’s midfield throughout a season in which the Gunners competed fiercely on both domestic and European fronts.
