Former Ghana international Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has commended Jordan Ayew for his leadership in guiding the Black Stars to back-to-back victories in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The  forward played a crucial role in Ghana’s resurgence, helping the team bounce back from a disappointing AFCON qualifying campaign to claim the top spot in Group I.

Ayew was instrumental in Ghana’s dominant wins against Chad (5-0) and Madagascar (3-0), scoring one goal and providing four assists over the two matches.

Speaking on TV3, Agyemang Badu lauded Ayew’s calm demeanor and strong mentality, highlighting his influence both on and off the pitch.

“He is very calm but very strong mentally. When you play with him, you truly understand the kind of player he is. Now that the issue of captaincy has been settled, and with legends like Stephen Appiah and Asamoah Gyan behind him, we are on our way to America. The job is done,” Badu said.

The Black Stars will return to action in September for the next round of World Cup qualifiers, where they will take on Comoros and Chad as they continue their push for a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
