Vision FC Coach Kwaku Agyemang Calls for Tactical Improvement in Ghana Premier League
Head coach of Vision FC, Nana Kwaku Agyemang, has voiced strong concerns over the competitiveness of the Ghana Premier League, urging fellow coaches to elevate the tactical standards of the domestic top-flight.
Speaking in an interview with Kessben FM, Coach Agyemang did not hold back in his assessment of the league, lamenting what he described as a decline in quality and strategic play compared to previous years.
“I think the Ghana Premier League is not competitive enough. Tactically, you will get a lot of clubs playing similar style of football,” he said.
“We just run with the ball and score goals—that’s all. There is no tactical plan the teams display, so it’s very difficult to pick a club in Ghana and study their plan or style of play.”
The Vision FC boss noted that a lack of diverse tactical approaches has made it difficult to analyze opponents in depth and devise counter-strategies.
“It’s very difficult to take a club and delve into their style and counter it. The standard of play has declined as compared to previous years,” he added. “It is our duty as coaches to turn things around to make the league attractive and competitive.”
Nana Agyemang took charge of Vision FC at the start of the 2024/25 season, guiding the newly promoted side through their debut Premier League campaign. With three matches remaining, the Tema-based club sits 14th on the table with 33 points and are battling to avoid relegation.
Vision FC will host fellow strugglers Young Apostles in a crucial matchday 31 fixture, as both sides look to secure their top-flight status for next season.
