Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank has heaped praise on Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus following his standout performance in Spurs’ pre-season triumph over Arsenal on Thursday in Hong Kong.

A stunning long-range goal from Pape Matar Sarr was enough to seal a 1-0 win for Spurs in the high-profile encounter against their North London rivals.

Kudus, who started the game and featured for 63 minutes before being substituted for Brennan Johnson, played a key role in Tottenham’s attacking build-up and transition phases.

Speaking after the match, Thomas Frank was full of admiration for the 24-year-old’s all-round performance.

“I thought he was excellent today — his hold-up play, composure on the ball, and ability to navigate tight spaces stood out. His one-on-one skills and chance creation were top class.

“Beyond that, he put in a tremendous shift for the team. He’s going to excite fans with his attacking flair while also contributing defensively,” he said.

Kudus, who joined Tottenham earlier this month from West Ham United for a reported fee of £55 million, became the most expensive Ghanaian footballer in history with the move.

Kudus’ early performances have already generated excitement among the Spurs faithful, who will be eager to see how he integrates into Thomas Frank’s system ahead of the upcoming Premier League campaign.
