The Chairman of the MTN FA Cup Committee, Wilson Arthur, has announced that the Tarkwa TNA Stadium will serve as the venue for the semifinals of this year’s competition.

The quarterfinals, which took place over the weekend in Kumasi, delivered thrilling encounters, culminating in Asante Kotoko, Berekum Chelsea, Golden Kick, and Attram de Visser booking their spots in the final four.

As part of efforts to bring the competition closer to fans, the FA Cup Committee has opted to stage the semifinals in Tarkwa, a decision aimed at creating a festive football atmosphere.

Speaking on the plans, Arthur highlighted the vision behind the move: “It’s a good thing to create a mini-festival out of the quarterfinals, semifinals, and the final,” he told 3Sports.

He also emphasized the importance of proper scheduling to enhance fan engagement: “It means that we will have to do a lot more work, and we don’t have to play games on a Saturday. We are having the semifinals at Tarkwa TNA Park.”

The semifinal clashes are set to take place in two weeks, as the remaining teams battle for a place in the MTN FA Cup final.
