Tanko Targets Away Success as Medeama Prepare for Nations FC Test
Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has set his sights on securing a positive outcome when his side travels to face Nations FC in the Ghana Premier League this weekend.
The league leaders will be on the road for Matchday 21, taking on the Abrankese-based club at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in what promises to be a fiercely contested encounter.
Speaking to Medeama’s media team ahead of the fixture, Tanko acknowledged the challenge posed by their opponents but stressed his team’s determination to deliver on the day.
“Nations FC is a very good team with a very good coach behind them. We hope to grind positive result at away,” the Medeama boss said.
Medeama head into the clash in commanding form, sitting top of the table with 43 points from 20 matches and holding an eight-point cushion over their closest challengers, Aduana FC and Asante Kotoko, who are both locked on 35 points.
Nations FC, meanwhile, occupy 12th place with 24 points after 20 games and will be eager to make home advantage count as they seek to climb away from the lower half of the table.
With the title race entering a decisive stage, Tanko will be looking for his players to maintain their consistency and composure as they aim to extend Medeama’s lead at the summit.
