Medeama SC head coach, Ibrahim Tanko, remains optimistic about his team’s chances in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League title race, despite suffering a narrow defeat to Heart of Lions on Wednesday.

The Mauve and Yellow were edged out in a tightly contested fixture, a result that leaves them 5th on the league table with 41 points—nine points adrift of current leaders Bibiani Gold Stars.

Speaking to Medi TV in a post-match interview, Coach Tanko stressed that the title race is far from over and that his side is determined to bounce back in their upcoming fixtures.

“We still have some games to play. Looking at the score lines of today, anything can happen. We are going to prepare for our next away game against Gold Stars and try to get our points,” he assured.

The defeat was a blow to Medeama’s momentum, but Tanko is confident that with the right mentality and preparation, his side can close the gap at the top of the table.

Next up for Medeama is a crucial clash against league leaders Bibiani Gold Stars—a match that could reignite their title hopes or further widen the gap.

With only a handful of matches left in the season, every point will be vital. Medeama’s path to a possible title triumph may be steep, but Tanko believes his side is still in the hunt.
