The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Committee has imposed a GH₵2,500 fine on Nations FC for their role in the abandonment of their Ghana Premier League Week 33 fixture against Basake Holy Stars.

The decision, delivered by the committee chaired by Osei Kwadwo Adow, Esq., ruled that Nations FC bore full responsibility for the disruption, dismissing the club’s counter-protest and citing multiple violations of the GFA’s Premier League Regulations.

Per the ruling, half of the fine — GH₵1,250 — will be paid to Basake Holy Stars as compensation, while the remaining GH₵1,250 will be paid to the GFA. Moreover, the Disciplinary Committee awarded a 3-0 forfeit victory to Basake Holy Stars in line with Article 33(1)(b) of the GFA regulations.

In addition to the financial sanction and forfeiture, Nations FC have been docked three points from their final season tally. The club, which had finished the 2024/25 campaign with 60 points, will now drop to 57, demoting them to fifth place on the league table.

The Committee also referred the case to the GFA Prosecutor for further investigation into the conduct of the match officials and other individuals involved, with the possibility of additional disciplinary actions.
