Former Ghana international and globe-trotting football star Kevin-Prince Boateng has embarked on a new chapter in his career—this time, off the pitch.

The ex-AC Milan, Barcelona, and Tottenham midfielder has officially launched his own football agency, Rookie & Champ, a venture aimed at mentoring and developing young footballers, with a special focus on his hometown of Berlin.

Known for his flair, charisma, and raw talent during his playing days, Boateng says his latest project is deeply personal—rooted in his own turbulent journey through football.

Speaking at a TransferRoom summit, the 37-year-old recounted key moments in his career that now serve as motivation to support the next generation.

“For eighteen, I went pro. I was that lad, you know, and I was loving it too,” Boateng reflected.

“And then I was sent to Tottenham. Ten days on, the coach told me that he didn’t want me.”

That crushing moment became a defining chapter in his life, shaping his understanding of how young players often fall through the cracks without proper guidance.

“Money or the fame or the big club is not always the right step to make,” Boateng stated. “That’s why I said, I wanna bring it to my experience of always wanting to be there for my boys.” “You have a Rookie & Champ player with eighteen. He’s ready for everything. He’s ready in front of fifty thousand to take a penalty.”

With Rookie & Champ, Boateng wants to offer more than representation—he aims to provide mentorship, mental readiness, and holistic support to prepare players not just for stardom, but for life in and beyond football.

As Boateng redefines his legacy, his agency stands as a beacon of what football guidance should be: personal, grounded, and built on experience.
