Ghana international Kamaldeen Sulemana is on the verge of sealing a move to Serie A side Atalanta after successfully undergoing medical checks on Monday, June 30, 2025.

The highly-rated winger is expected to sign a long-term contract with the Italian club following a €17.5 million agreement with English side Southampton. The deal will see Sulemana reunite with his former manager Ivan Juric ahead of the 2025/26 season.

As part of the negotiated terms, Southampton have secured a 15% sell-on clause, which will entitle them to a portion of any future transfer fee should Atalanta sell the Ghanaian forward.

Sulemana is set to commit to a four-year contract that runs until June 2029, with an option to extend for an additional year depending on performance and mutual agreement.

The 23-year-old joined Southampton from French club Stade Rennais in January 2023 but endured a difficult spell in England, largely due to injuries that limited his impact in the Premier League. Despite the challenges, he managed to score four goals and provide seven assists in 74 appearances for the Saints.

Atalanta are hopeful that a change of environment and a reunion with Juric will help the Ghanaian rediscover the form that once made him one of Africa’s most exciting young prospects. Sulemana’s pace, dribbling ability, and creativity are expected to bolster Atalanta’s attacking options as they prepare for both domestic and European campaigns next season.

The official announcement of the transfer is expected in the coming days following the completion of final paperwork.
