Former Black Stars legend Ibrahim Sunday has given a resounding endorsement to Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara, praising his character and coaching abilities.

The former African Player of the Year, revealed that he has a long-standing friendship with Ouattara, who reached out to him when he took up the Hearts of Oak job.

“I was with Aboubakar Ouattara in Ivory Coast. He called me when he was coming to Ghana to coach Hearts of Oak. He’s a good person and a good coach,” Sunday said in an interview with Asempa FM.

Sunday expressed optimism about Ouattara’s potential to bring success to the club, saying: “I hope that he gets things right and starts winning a lot of games for Hearts of Oak.”

The legendary player’s endorsement is significant, given his standing as one of the country’s most respected football figures.

Hearts of Oak will face a stern test in their next Ghana Premier League match, as they take on arch-rivals Asante Kotoko.
