Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has pointed to the uncertainty surrounding his team’s match venue as a key factor in their 1-0 loss to Nations FC in Week 21 of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.

The Phobians struggled to find their rhythm in the game played at Tuba Park, with Nations FC captain Razak Simpson scoring the only goal with a stunning strike to seal victory for the hosts.

Speaking after the match, Ouattara expressed frustration over the last-minute changes to their home venue, which he believes disrupted the team’s preparation and focus.

“When you don’t know the venue you are playing at 24 hours before the game and you are not well prepared on the psychological side, this is the result,” he stated.

In the buildup to the fixture, Hearts of Oak faced challenges regarding their designated home ground. Both the University of Ghana Stadium and the Accra Sports Stadium were unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, forcing them to relocate at short notice.

The defeat marks Hearts of Oak’s third loss in their last four matches, dropping them to sixth place in the league standings. Meanwhile, Nations FC continues to impress, with Simpson’s goal proving vital in maintaining their strong form in the competition.

With pressure mounting, Ouattara and his side will need to regroup quickly as they prepare for their next league fixture, where they aim to return to winning ways.
