Nations FC head coach Kasim Ocansey Mingle has voiced his dissatisfaction with his team’s performance despite a commanding 4-1 victory over Legon Cities in their Ghana Premier League Week 31 encounter on Monday.

The win, which was recorded at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, saw Nations FC leapfrog back to the summit of the Premier League table with 57 points, three rounds before the season ends. The result also sealed Legon Cities’ relegation to the Division One League, having collected just 25 points from 31 matches.

Kelvin Ampoful starred with a brace, while Emmanuel Annor and Sadiq Alhassan added their names to the scoresheet in what was a comprehensive showing from the Abrankese-based side.

However, despite the emphatic scoreline, Coach Mingle expressed frustration over his players’ wastefulness in front of goal.

“Our performance was not bad but not to my satisfaction,” the former Bechem United boss said post-match. “In the first half, we wasted a lot of chances but I don’t blame them. They always want to score for us to take the lead and it is as a result why we keep wasting good scoring opportunities.”

Mingle’s comments underscore his desire for efficiency and sharpness in the final third, as the team eyes its maiden Ghana Premier League title in what has been a sensational debut campaign in the top-flight.

With three games remaining, Nations FC now control their destiny in the title race, while Legon Cities face the grim reality of rebuilding in the second tier following a disappointing season.
