GPL: Kotoko’s Prosper Ogum attributes defeat to fatigue
Head Coach for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum has revealed his outfit’s defeat to Heart of Lions was a result of fatigue.
The Porcupine Warriors lost 1-0 to Heart of Lions in Obuasi in the match week 9 fixture of the Ghana Premier League.
The defeat marks Asante Kotoko’s second defeat on a row this season and also and end to their unbeaten run at home.
Speaking after the game, gaffer for Kotoko Prosper Ogum says the players were tired due to long journeys of the club in seven days. According to him, playing three games in seven days had a toll on the players.
“We looked very tired on the field. I think the stress of journey from Kumasi to Anyinase is about nine hours; we played on Sunday and travelled another 10 hours to Accra. We played on Wednesday and had to travel all the way from Accra to Kumasi. So its been three games in seven days and you could see they were tired. It was fatigue that was on our part.” He said.
The Porcupine Warriors have descended the league log to the third position with 15 points.
