Ghanaian Goalkeeper Kofi Mensah Joins Sudanese Side Al-Ahli Wad Madani
Sudanese Premier League outfit Al-Ahli Wad Madani have secured the services of Ghanaian goalkeeper Kofi Mensah in the ongoing transfer window, as the 28-year-old shot-stopper embarks on a new chapter in his career.
Mensah has penned a two-year deal with the Sudanese club after both parties reached an agreement, marking his second spell abroad following an earlier stint with Zambian Super League side Power Dynamos FC.
The experienced goalkeeper leaves Nations FC, where he spent the last two seasons in the Ghana Premier League. Known for his consistency and leadership between the posts, Mensah is poised to bring stability and competition to the goalkeeping department at Al-Ahli Wad Madani.
A seasoned journeyman, Mensah has featured for several Ghanaian top-tier clubs, including Karela United, AshantiGold SC, Tema Youth, and Ebusua Dwarfs, amassing more than a decade of domestic experience. Over 60 Premier League matches, he has kept 27 clean sheets, earning a reputation as one of the most reliable goalkeepers in the local game. His performances also earned him occasional call-ups to the home-based national team, the Black Galaxies.
Now ready for a new challenge, Kofi Mensah is aiming to cement a first-choice spot at the Algazira Stadium, home of Al-Ahli. The Sudanese side will be counting on his shot-stopping abilities and veteran presence as they prepare for the new league season.
