Ghana and Colombia Strengthen Sports Collaboration as Ambassador Meets Sports Minister

The Ambassador of Colombia to Ghana, H.E. Daniel Garcés Carabalí, has paid a courtesy visit to Ghana’s Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams, to strengthen bilateral relations in sports development between the two nations.

The meeting, which took place on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, focused on deepening cooperation between their respective Sports Ministries to enhance skills development, coaching, and sports promotion.

Welcoming the Colombian envoy, Hon. Kofi Adams commended Ambassador Carabalí for his dedication to sports growth in Ghana. He praised the diplomat for being the first foreign official to engage him since assuming office, highlighting Colombia’s role as a valuable sports partner.

Hon. Adams emphasized the importance of exchange programs in coaching and skills development, stressing that such initiatives would significantly improve the performance of Ghanaian athletes.

He further assured that the Government of Ghana would continue to collaborate with Colombia in implementing practical initiatives that would benefit athletes and sports institutions in both nations.

During the meeting, Ambassador Carabalí presented a copy of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between Ghana and Colombia on sports development.

The engagement marks a significant step toward enhancing Ghana’s international partnerships in sports, with both countries set to explore avenues for cooperation in various sporting disciplines.
