Newly appointed head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, has stressed the urgent need for a clear football philosophy and style of play at the club following his official unveiling on Monday, June 30, 2025.

The former Asante Kotoko boss, who signed a two-year contract with the Phobians, was introduced at a brief ceremony held at the club’s secretariat in Accra.

His appointment signals a fresh chapter for the 21-time Ghana Premier League champions, who are aiming to regain stability and rebuild a strong identity on and off the pitch.

Speaking at the event, Dramani emphasized the importance of establishing a consistent and recognizable playing philosophy across all levels of the club.

“Hearts has a very huge tradition, and we need to build a clear culture within this tradition,” he stated. “We need to consolidate a clear philosophy and a clear style of play so that when we appear, people can tell this is Hearts of Oak. When our youth teams are playing, everybody will appreciate that they try to replicate what the first team is doing.”

Known for his emphasis on tactical discipline and player development, Dramani’s return to domestic management is expected to bring structure and long-term vision to the Phobians, who have endured inconsistent performances in recent seasons.

His immediate challenge will come on July 6, when Hearts face his former club, Asante Kotoko, in the 2025 President’s Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Dramani, who previously guided Kotoko to back-to-back league titles in 2012 and 2013, now shoulders the responsibility of rejuvenating Hearts of Oak and restoring the club’s identity as one of Ghana’s most storied football institutions.
