Chad’s preparations for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers have suffered a huge blow, with three key players withdrawing from the squad ahead of their fixtures against Ghana and Comoros.

According to exclusive reports, Zesco United forward Amine Hiver, French-based winger Ahmad Toure Ngouyamsa, and SuperSport United’s Eric Mbangossoum have all pulled out of the squad.

The withdrawals are reportedly due to poor preparations by the Chadian Football Federation, which has left the players frustrated, especially given the significance of these qualifiers.

The situation has been worsened by the sudden and unexplained departure of head coach Kevin Nicaise, a move that has further unsettled the squad.

Chad’s captain, Marius Mouandilmadji, has also reportedly withdrawn, making it even more difficult for the Les Sao coaching staff to assemble a competitive team for their crucial encounter.

The Chadians, who are yet to register a single point in the qualifiers, had been eager to turn their fortunes around in this international window. However, these latest setbacks have left them in a dire situation as they prepare to face a Ghanaian side determined to strengthen their qualification bid.

The Black Stars, currently second in Group I with nine points, will look to capitalize on Chad’s struggles and secure their third consecutive victory in the qualifiers. Having endured a disappointing AFCON qualifying campaign, Ghana is keen to regain momentum and enhance their chances of securing a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Chad, on the other hand, sits at the bottom of the group with zero points, and these latest developments further diminish their hopes of making an impact in the qualifiers.
