Black Stars Climb Two Spots in Latest FIFA World Ranking After Strong Qualifier Performances
Ghana’s Black Stars have climbed two places in the latest FIFA World Ranking, reflecting their impressive showing in the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.
Otto Addo’s men, who made a slight upward move in the previous edition, have now risen to 73rd globally, marking steady progress on the international stage.
The latest rise comes on the back of Ghana’s fine displays during the October 2025 international window, where the team turned in dominant performances against their Group I opponents.
The Black Stars hammered Madagascar 5-0 in Morocco before securing a 1-0 victory over Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium — a result that sealed their position at the top of their qualifying group.
While Ghana’s global ranking saw improvement, their continental standing remains unchanged, as they still occupy 14th place in Africa.
Coach Otto Addo has expressed optimism about pushing the team even higher when the Black Stars return to action next month for their friendly encounters against Japan and South Korea.
With momentum on their side and a World Cup ticket already secured, Ghana will be looking to maintain their upward trajectory as preparations continue toward the 2026 global showpiece.
