Ghana has made progress in the latest FIFA rankings, marking its first upward movement since July 2024.

In the newly released rankings, the Black Stars have risen to 76th globally, improving from their previous 77th position, which they had held since November 2024.

The Black Stars’ rise in the rankings follows a strong start to the 2025 calendar year, particularly during the last international window.

Ghana secured back-to-back wins over Chad and Madagascar in Matchdays 5 and 6 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, boosting their overall standing This improvement sees Ghana move ahead of Israel, who have dropped two places in the latest FIFA update.

Despite their upward movement globally, Ghana’s position in Africa remains unchanged as they continue to hold the 14th spot on the continental rankings.

Head coach Otto Addo will be looking to build on this momentum when the Black Stars return to action later in the year.
