Ghanaian football legend Abedi Pele has urged the nation to focus on progress and hard work to reclaim its status as a football powerhouse.

The Black Stars of Ghana failed to qualify for the African Cup of Nations slated for Morocco next year.

Speaking to the media, as reported by Panafricafootball, the three-time African Footballer of the Year emphasized the need to look forward rather than dwell on past achievements.

“I think time changes in all aspects, and we are talking about three decades,” Pele remarked. “So whatever it is, we shouldn’t look back; we should just look forward, work hard, and achieve whatever we want to achieve.”

Pele stressed the importance of laying a strong foundation for success, underscoring the value of unity and preparation in building a winning team.

“What it takes to be a great football team or a great football nation is to work hard and put your house in order to make sure that you get results. That is all it takes to be a good team anywhere in the world,” he added.

Abedi Pele’s words come at a crucial time as Ghana works to strengthen its football infrastructure and regain prominence on the global stage.
