Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has expressed delight with his side’s display after they secured a convincing 3-1 win over Bibiani Gold Stars to advance from the MTN FA Cup Round of 32.

The Mauve and Yellow outfit set the tone early, showing purpose and intensity from the first whistle, and their dominance was rewarded midway through the first half when Braye broke the deadlock. Medeama continued to control proceedings and went into halftime firmly in charge after the forward struck again just before the interval.

Although Gold Stars attempted a response after the break and pulled one back through Gideon Anaba in the 52nd minute, Tanko’s men remained composed. Medeama tightened up defensively, limited the visitors’ attacking threat, and patiently waited for the right moment to restore their two-goal cushion.

That decisive moment arrived late in the game, as Braye completed his hat-trick in the 85th minute to put the result beyond doubt and book Medeama’s place in the next round of the competition.

Speaking after the match, Tanko underlined the importance of progressing in the FA Cup and praised his players’ collective effort.

“It’s very important to go to the next round. Winning 3-1 against a strong team, I think they are behind us in the league table so definitely I’m very happy that we are going into the next stage,” he said.

The former Black Stars assistant coach also highlighted the depth and unity within his squad.

“All the players are ready. Each one can score at anytime. In all the team is doing well and we are playing as a team and I’m very happy,” Tanko added.

With momentum building across competitions, Medeama will now turn their focus to maintaining their strong form as they continue their pursuit of silverware this season.
