Set Pieces Key to Hearts of Oak’s Revival — Didi Dramani
Hearts of Oak head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has highlighted the importance of maximizing set-piece opportunities after watching his side grind out a 1–0 win over Vision FC on Saturday.
The Phobians secured the points at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium thanks to a well-executed corner routine finished by Mawuli Wayo five minutes before halftime. The result brought an end to their recent dip in form and injected a renewed sense of belief into the team.
Dramani, reviewing the narrow victory, praised his players for translating their training-ground work into a match-winning moment. He stressed that set pieces have become an essential tool in deciding close contests.
“Our trump card is also working on the set pieces because the set pieces game has become very fundamental in the modern trends, and so when the game becomes so tight, you can rely on set pieces to open up,” the former Black Stars assistant coach said.
He further noted that the team could have profited even more from their dead-ball opportunities, adding: “I think that we should have scored even more than two from our set-piece play.”
Saturday’s win moves Hearts of Oak to fourth place on 21 points as they prepare for their next league challenge — a Matchday 13 trip to the Aliu Mahama Stadium to face Karela United.
