Accra Hearts of Oak have formally announced the establishment of a Recruitment Committee tasked with overseeing a strategic squad overhaul ahead of the upcoming 2025/26 football season.

In an official statement released on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, the club disclosed that the committee will comprise individuals “drawn from the Board, Management, and Technical Team,” underscoring a collaborative approach toward the club’s future direction.

The move signals Hearts of Oak’s intention to undertake a comprehensive rebuild, following their fourth-place finish in the recently concluded Ghana Premier League season.

According to the club, the committee has already begun a rigorous evaluation process aimed at reviewing the current squad and identifying potential signings in accordance with the vision of the technical bench.

The recruitment strategy is driven by data analysis, focusing on enhancing key areas within the team,” the statement read. “Concurrently, we are escalating the roles of current players to ensure alignment with the club’s long-term objectives. Some of the players who do not make the cut will be let go.”

The Phobians, however, did not reveal the specific identities of the committee members, leaving fans and stakeholders in anticipation of further details.

This development comes as the club prepares for a high-stakes President’s Cup clash against rivals Asante Kotoko on July 6, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium. The annual fixture will serve as both a competitive warm-up and a symbolic benchmark for Hearts’ new direction.
