20-year-old Ghanaian-Italian footballer Lord Joel Martey, who plays as a left-back for ASD Sora in Italy’s Serie D, is hoping to catch the attention of Ghana’s national team selectors.

Born in Naples, Italy, to Ghanaian parents from Accra, Martey brings a unique mix of European football training and Ghanaian roots to his game. Known for his pace, tactical discipline, and attacking mindset, he has been a key player for ASD Sora in Italy’s fourth tier.

In an interview on Asempa FM, Martey revealed that he used to play further up the pitch. “I used to score a lot when I played on the mid-left,”

“That experience shaped my attacking style, and even now as a defender, I like to push forward when possible.”

Martey has set his sights on a call-up to the Black Stars, believing his current form and dedication could earn him that opportunity.

“Wearing the national jersey of Ghana would be a dream come true. I’m working hard and staying prepared.” he stated.

As the Ghana Football Association continues to scout talent across Europe, Martey remains hopeful that his name will soon be on the radar of the national team coaches.
