GFA President Kurt Okraku Calls for Witnesses to Identify Nana Pooley’s Killer
Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kurt Okraku, has made an emotional appeal for individuals with knowledge of the tragic killing of Asante Kotoko supporter Yaw Frimpong, known as Nana Pooley, to come forward and assist in identifying the perpetrator.
Meeting with Asante Kotoko officials for the first time since Pooley’s death, Okraku expressed his deep concern over the incident and emphasized the need for justice.
He urged anyone who was present during the fatal stabbing to do the right thing for the sake of football and the country.
“When that tragic act occurred in Nsoatre, there was someone present with the person who took Nana Pooley’s life. That person must be honest with football and reveal the killer’s identity. It’s a painful moment, but also an opportunity to make a positive impact on our game,” Okraku stated.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko has resumed training as anticipation builds for the resumption of the Ghana Premier League, which was suspended due to security concerns following Pooley’s death. Kotoko, alongside Hearts of Oak, has been vocal in demanding stricter security measures to curb violence at football venues.
