Didi Dramani Stresses Player Management Ahead of New Season
Hearts of Oak head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has underlined the importance of careful player management as his side prepares for the upcoming 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
The Phobians are currently competing in the GHALCA Top 4 tournament and will face reigning league champions Bibiani GoldStars on Friday, August 22, at the University of Ghana Stadium. Hearts began their campaign with a narrow 1-0 win over Heart of Lions on Wednesday at the same venue.
Speaking after the victory, Dramani explained that while pre-season competitions serve as vital preparation, they can also expose players to risks if not managed properly.
“This period is also crucial. When you don’t manage the loading, you can lose a player, and then you can lose a player for the entire season,” Dramani said.
He stressed the importance of avoiding overuse of players, highlighting that the technical team is being deliberate in ensuring no one is pushed beyond safe limits.
“And that is what we’re trying to avoid — that we don’t overdose the player in terms of game minutes. Phobia, we love you,” he added.
Dramani also urged Hearts supporters to continue showing up in numbers for the tournament, noting their role in boosting the team’s spirit and giving the competition greater relevance.
“Please keep coming to the stadium, fill up the stadium so that the organization of the Top Four will become very eminent,” he appealed.
Hearts of Oak will wrap up their Top 4 campaign on Sunday with a clash against rivals Asante Kotoko.
