Spanish La Liga outfit Celta Vigo have confirmed the extension of Ghanaian winger Bernard Somuah’s loan deal, following his impressive performances with their reserve side, Celta Fortuna.

The 18-year-old, who is on the books of Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko, will now spend an additional 12 months in Spain, with Celta Vigo retaining an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the 2025/26 season.

Somuah earned praise for his dynamic displays during his initial loan stint, impressing the technical handlers of Celta Fortuna with his pace, dribbling ability, and attacking flair. His performances played a crucial role in the decision to extend his stay in Galicia.

“RC Celta and Asante Kotoko have reached an agreement to extend Bernard’s loan with an option to purchase for one season. We continue to grow together, Bernard Somuah,” the Spanish club posted on their official social media handles.

The highly rated youngster is tipped to play an even bigger role for Celta Fortuna next season as he continues his development within the club’s youth system. Club insiders believe Somuah has the potential to break into the Celta Vigo senior team if he maintains his upward trajectory.

Back in Ghana, Asante Kotoko are optimistic that the extended loan will further enhance Somuah’s exposure and maturity, boosting his chances of returning as a more refined talent or earning a permanent move abroad.
