Asante Kotoko Secure 2-1 Victory Over Dreams FC
Asante Kotoko extended their winning streak with a gritty 2-1 triumph over Dreams FC in a Ghana Premier League Matchweek 14 clash at the Tuba Astroturf in Krokrobite, Accra.
The Porcupine Warriors took control late in the first half, scoring two quick goals to establish a commanding lead. Yahaya Baba opened the scoring in the 40th minute, capitalizing on a precise cutback to slot the ball home from close range.
Just three minutes later, Saaka Dauda doubled the advantage, reacting quickly to bury a rebound into the net and give Kotoko a deserved cushion heading into halftime.
Dreams FC emerged stronger after the break, determined to claw their way back into the game. Their efforts bore fruit in the 58th minute when Joseph Esso delivered a composed finish to halve the deficit, setting the tone for an intense second half.
The Porcupine Warriors remain within three points of the league leaders, keeping their title ambitions alive. Dreams FC, however, find themselves in the relegation zone and will need to regroup quickly to avoid further setbacks in their campaign.
