Aboubakar Ouattara Embraces Pressure as Fuel at Hearts of Oak Amid Fan Criticism
Accra Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has acknowledged the intense pressure that comes with managing the storied Ghanaian club but insists it is what drives his passion for the job.
His remarks come in the wake of increasing fan dissatisfaction, with supporters expressing frustration over the team’s inconsistent performances.
Just days ago, a group of aggrieved fans stormed the club’s secretariat to voice their displeasure, many calling for the coach’s removal.
Speaking in an interview on Sportsnite on Asempa FM, the Ivorian tactician admitted he is not immune to mistakes but remains committed to steering the club in the right direction.
“I’m human—I won’t always be right. But the pressure at Hearts of Oak is what fuels my passion,” Ouattara stated.
The Phobians currently sit 6th on the Ghana Premier League table with 54 points, a standing that falls below expectations for a club of Hearts of Oak’s stature. Despite a recent win over Medeama and a draw against rivals Asante Kotoko, critics argue that the team lacks consistency and a clear identity.
Coach Ouattara, however, remains unfazed by the criticism and maintains that he is working tirelessly with his technical team to improve results.
As Hearts of Oak prepare for their upcoming fixture against Berekum Chelsea, all eyes will be on Ouattara and his side to deliver a performance that calms nerves and restores belief among the fans.
