Ghana winger Kamaldeen Sulemana has shared his joy after netting his maiden goal for the senior national team during Ghana’s emphatic 5-0 victory over the Central African Republic in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on Wednesday.

The Atalanta attacker, who has been part of the Black Stars setup since making his debut on October 9, 2020, finally broke his goal-scoring duck in national colours in a memorable fashion. Coming off the bench in the 76th minute, Sulemana sealed Ghana’s dominant display with a fine strike in the 87th minute, capping a night of attacking brilliance for Otto Addo’s men.

Speaking after the game, an elated Sulemana expressed gratitude to fans for their unwavering support and described the moment as deeply meaningful in his international journey.

“I really appreciate the support from Ghanaians. This is my first goal, and it means a lot to me. There’s more to come,” Sulemana said.

The 22-year-old’s energetic cameo and well-taken goal drew widespread praise, as Ghana extended their lead at the top of Group I with 22 points, moving closer to sealing qualification for the 2026 World Cup.

With one more game left — a home clash against Comoros on Sunday, October 12 — the Black Stars are firmly on course to return to the global stage, with Sulemana’s breakthrough goal adding to the team’s growing sense of momentum and belief.
