Two-time Ghana Premier League champions, Great Olympics are facing relegation battle despite brilliant start to the 2022-23 BetPawa Premier League under manager Yaw Preko.

Great Olympics after the second transfer window, begun to slavish as they started losing points on home grounds and even away. Poor performance coupled with other factors then lead to the sack of former Ghana international Yaw Preko.

The club has since appointed experienced young Ghanaian trainer who previously managed Bechem United FC, Hasaacas FC and FC Samartex 1996, coach Bismark Kobby-Mensah.

His appointment though didn’t come as a surprise looking at his vast experience in the domestic league. However, they are still struggling and at the moment fighting to survive relegation.

Olympics sit 15th position with 31 points after 25 league games and could slip through.

But in an interview, the Public Relations Officer of the outfit Saint Osei says they are unfazed by their position on the league table because they know they will over come it at the end of campaign.

“He stands tall. We are comfortable and not perturbed by our position on the league log. The points gap between clubs are not huge and with nine games to end the season, anything can happen”

“We are comfortable and okay. If you rely on man, you will be disappointed and with God on our side, we will triumph” he said.

Great Olympics will travel to Dormaa to face Aduana FC in matchday 26 of the Ghana Premier League on Saturday.
