FC Samartex 1996 aim for revenge against Asante Kotoko SC
Ghana Premier League debutants, FC Samartex will host champions Asante Kotoko SC on Saturday in the 2022-23 BetPawa Premier League match-week 22 fixture.
Having enjoyed a good run of form at home in their debut season, by winning 6 matches and drawing 4 are bent on making the Nsenkyire Sports Stadium a fortress in the 2022-23 league season. The Timber Giant’s have lost just a game at home this season thus a 3-0 defeat to Bibiani GoldStars SC.
Ahead of clash against the Porcupine Warriors, brands manager for FC Samartex Paul Anyamba says his club has a point to prove when they entertain the Reds this weekend. First leg encounter ended 2-1 in favour of Asante Kotoko SC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, their first defeat in the campaign asuch hoping for a win home.
With set sight on revenging their lost, Samartex says they have a score to settle on Saturday.
“Our first five fixtures were very difficult and any club that gets RTU, Olympics, Kotoko it will be hard to survive it but we did well before getting a defeat against Asante Kotoko”
“Kotoko made us taste our first defeat of the campaign, losing 2-1 away and the players believe they have a score to settle with them”, Paul Anyamba told Subanpa FM based in Kumasi.
“They believe is time to also let Kotoko taste a bitter defeat at Samerboi”.
The Porcupine Warriors having seen bad performance in their away performance since start of season, winning just two and drawing three does not look good going into this hurdle.
FC Samartex currently, sit 9th on the league log with 30-points whiles Kotoko are 5th with 31-points.
