South Africa Football Association President, Danny Jordan says they can’t compare themselves to Ghana and Morocco, who have players from Europe switching to play for them.

Ghana defeated South Africa to the World Cup playoffs before eventually edging out Nigeria to qualify for the World Cup.

Ghana exited the World Cup from the group stage after winning just a game, whereas Morocco have made history by becoming the first African nation to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup, to set a date with France.

Danny Jordan believes that South African’s can’t compare themselves to Ghana and Morocco because majority of their players come from Europe.

“We must not equate a team that has 90% of their players coming from Europe and becoming citizens in order to be in the team,” Jordaan said as quoted by sabcsport.com.

“How’s it possible that one [Inaki] Williams is playing for Ghana, and his brother, another [Nico] Williams, is playing for Spain?

“Our focus is, we must not be distracted by that. Fundamentally, our position is [that] we must produce world-class players that can compete with the best in the world,” he concluded.
