Use the $1m well and stop blaming Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko – Kotoko’s Emmanuel Dasoberi
Asante Kotoko SC administrative manager, Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi has taken a swipe at Kurt Okraku’s led Ghana Football Association administration for failing to uphold the sanctity of the domestic league.
Ghana’s top-flight league have being hit with several issues including low stadium attendance, player exodus and lack of quality. Nevertheless, the GFA have failed in founding antidote to the issues pertaining the league despite a $6 million headline sponsorship deal from betting company BetPawa.
Following statement by GFA President, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku asking the two glorious clubs in Ghana Asante Kotoko SC and Hearts of Oak SC to locate channel in which fans will troop the stadium on match days, Kotoko management member Dasoberi believe it’s a wrong step taken by the President.
“It’s up to Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko to find ways of bringing back the fans to the stadium”, Kurt said.
With the clubs still suffering with finance and poor patronage, Emmanuel Dasoberi says the GFA should stop blaming the two teams for their incompetence and rather uphold the sanctity and integrity of the domestic league.
“People have simple lost confidence in the league. Stop blaming the two teams for your incompetence. Uphold the sanctity and integrity of the league”
Despite an amount of $1 million set aside from the BetPawa Premier League sponsorship deal of $6m to promote and market the league not playing any impact on the Premier League, Newton Dasoberi have asked the football governing body to use the money well.
“Make the league highly competitive and attractive and use the $1m well”, he wrote on twitter.
