UEFA CL: Ghanaian duo Dennis Odoi and Sowah exit champions league with defeat to Benfica
The Ghanaian duo Dennis Odoi and Kamal Sowah have bid bye to 2022-23 UEFA Champions League with Club Brugge, following a heavy defeat away to SL Benfica in Portugal.
Losing 2-0 in the first league at home, it would have being difficult for Club Brugge to overturn the scoreline but not to succumb to a huge defeat of 5-1 in Portugal on Tuesday night.
Ghanaian winger Kamal Sowah so sad for him, played his last match in this season’s Uefa Champions League on Tuesday after losing 7-1 on aggregate in the round 16 tie.
Sowah started for Club Brugge but could not help the team do better as they suffered elimination. He enjoyed 75 minutes before he was replaced by Antonio Nusa.
Countryman defender Dennis Odoi was a second-half substitute for Club Brugge during the heavy defeat to SL Benfica.
Both will now turn attention to the domestic league.
Meanwhile, the two Ghanaian players are likely to be part of the Black Stars squad that will play the upcoming AFCON qualification matches against Angola.
