'My parents are my coaches too' - Thomas Partey
Arsenal midfielder, Thomas Partey has revealed that his performance for both club and country is from the positive impact of his parents.
The Ghana international described his parents as his coaches and not only caretakers.
Partey is in his form of his life, since joining English Premier League side Arsenal FC guiding them to the top of the standings ahead of Manchester City and Manchester United with five points better of the Sky Blues after 27 matches.
The 29-year old will hope to see his outfit maintain their gap further till the final day to end their almost twenty year abeyance of not having their hands gripped on the EPL title
In the ongoing 2022-23 campaign, the Black Stars midfielder has made 27 appearances in all competitions with three goals to his name.
“Both my parents are my coaches. There are instances during a game when I feel I can just chip the ball, but she [his mother] would be like, ‘Why don’t I just attempt shooting often,” Partey told SuperSport.
The former Athletic Madrid star will hope to make Mikel Arteta’s line up for their all important fixture against Sporting CP in round 16 of the UEFA Europa League this Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Black Stars assistant captain has been handed a Black Stars call up by new head coach Chris Hughton for their upcoming 2023 AFCON qualifiers double header against Angola this month.
