Tariq Lamptey Suffers Injury in Brighton Win over WestHam Uinted
The 22-year-old defender suffered an injury over the weekend as in action for Brighton and Hove Albion in the English Premier League.
Tariq Lamptey spent just 16 minutes on the field during Brighton game against WestHam Uinted. He appeared to have picked a knock and was taken off for Joel Veltman.
Brighton and Hove Albion defeated the Hammers 4-0 at the Amex Stadium on Saturday.
The extend of Tariq injury is not yet known but he is in race against a team to be fit for the first leg of the qualifiers on March 23.
Tariq Lamptey could miss Ghana’s doubleheader against Angola in the 2023 African Cup of Nations Qualifier, if he falls fitness test.
Ghana will travel four days later for the second leg in Luanda.
Tariq Lamptey switched nationality to play for Ghana at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
