Tariq Lamptey return to Brighton and Hove Albion after World Cup display
Black Stars defender Tariq Lamptey has returned to his club in England to continue training with teammates following Black Stars exit from the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The 22 year old had an outstanding campaign in the Asian state Qatar, having featured in two out of the three matches Ghana played in Group H of the tournament. He was very impressive as a deputy to Alidu Seidu, establishing himself as a dependable right wing-back in the team.
The four time African champions finished the competition on an abysmal note after losing 3-2 to Portugal and eventually bowing out of the Mundial with a 2-0 defeat to Uruguay in their last group H encounter.
Ghana beat South Korea 3-2 in their second game and were expected to pick a point against Uruguay and secure qualification from the Group but failed.
The former Chelsea star has returned to Brighton and Hove Albion and has already begun training as he look to get himself well gelled and poised for the return of the Premier League.
Tariq was one of the favourites under manager Graham Potter but is yet to enjoy more game time after Potter departure to Chelsea FC.
