Ghana midfielder Thomas Teye Partey a doubt for Arsenal FC as they aim for a scalp over Everton FC on Saturday in the English Premier League.

The 29-year-old picked a minor injury last week in Arsenal FA Cup game against Manchester City. Due to the sharp pain he was feeling, the medical team suggested he was taken off in that 1-0 defeat game to Manchester City.

He has since been assessed but as to the extent of the injury, the Gunners are yet to confirm which puts the Black Stars midfielder in doubt for their weekend clash against struggling Everton FC.

Ahead of trip to Merseyside, manager Mikel Arteta said Partey’s availability will depend on what happens today in training.

“That one is still a doubt,” Arteta said when asked about Partey’s availability.

“Let’s see today how he comes in, and whether he’s able to train with the team or not, and we’ll make the decision on that.

“It’s not ruled out and it’s nothing very significant, but it was significant enough to get him out of the (City) game, which for Thomas is a bit unusual, but hopefully he will be fine.”

The former Atletico Madrid star has been phenomenal this season for the Gunners who sit summit of the Premier League table.

He has played 16 games and scored two marvellous goals.
