Outtara credits Berekum Chelsea for tough game despite win
Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has credited Berekum Chelsea for their resilient performance despite his side’s 3-1 victory in the Matchweek 14 Ghana Premier League clash on Friday night.
The match, held at the University of Ghana Stadium, saw Hearts of Oak bounce back from their previous loss to Asante Kotoko. Goals from Ramzy Yussif, Hamza Issah, and Kwame Boateng secured the win for the Phobians, while Emmanuel Sarpong scored Chelsea’s only goal.
Speaking in his post-match interview, Coach Ouattara acknowledged the difficulty of the game, emphasizing that the scoreline did not reflect the balance of play.
“We came for the three points and we got it. We continue to work,” the coach remarked. “Today Chelsea gave us a difficult game. The score is not a reflection of the game. The game was 50/50, but we scored. They gave us a tough match. When we were leading 2-1, it was not easy.” He said.
With this win, Hearts of Oak climbed to 5th place on the league table, accumulating 22 points. Berekum Chelsea are now in 9th place with 18 points.
