According to Chairman of Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), Cudjoe Fianoo, clubs trading in the top-flight are not serious in developing the game.

Fianoo’s issue comes at the back of many talking about poor stadium attendance in the Ghana Premier League. For some season’s now, the level of supporters trooping to the stadium to watch games have reduced drastically.

The shocking of the situation is, clubs involved and suffering from this are busy chasing for three points on match day and not worried over low attendance and curbing it.

The former Ashanti Gold SC CEO, Cudjo Fianoo says, though lack of Stars in the Premier League and moderm in charging fans on match days are factors to the current situation.

However, the various clubs are not showing concerns rather winning match day points.

“E-ticketing is a factor affecting our stadium league attendance but there are other factors”

“I believe there are no stars in the league whom fans can go and watch. The few outstanding players leave the moment they come to the limelight”, Fianoo told Oyerepa FM.

“The GFA must also be blamed because of the inadequate sponsorship in the league. If we make the league attractive, coperate bodies will invest”

“By now clubs should be in serious consultation with the GFA but they are busily chasing three points”

“The thorny issue of people not coming to the stadium did not start today. At a point,we had to open free gate in Kotoko vs Hearts in the president cup”

“It is a dangerous situation now”

“The GFA, GHALCA, the Clubs and everyone must be concerned, we are running into a ditch”, he concluded.
