Otto Addo Eyes First Victory in Tight Angola Clash

Black Stars head coach  Otto Addo believes the AFCON game against Angola is the right game for Ghana’s first win in the AFCON qualifiers.

Ghana have not won a game in the ongoing qualifiers. They have lost two and drawn two which puts them bottom in Group F.

Speaking about the challenge ahead, Addo acknowledged the difficulty of the encounter but remains optimistic about Ghana’s chances of securing a victory.

“These are difficult games. You can’t take it for granted that they will play, let’s say, 50 per cent or so. I know that Angola will be 100 per cent ready,” Addo said. “It’s going to be difficult; it’s an away game. It’s going to be very, very tight, I know. But I think mentally the boys are ready.” He said.

Ghana needs a win to boost their chances of qualification. Addo believes this match presents the perfect opportunity to turn their fortunes around.

“I’m looking forward to that game. It’s time for our first victory in this competition. I think it’s a great opportunity to keep the chance alive.” He added.

The games comes off at Luanda today at 19:00 GMT.
